Meet My Lab X JFS event series

GOAL OF MEET MY LAB X JFS

To support bilateral research projects between Southeast Asia and Europe, speakers of Meet My Lab x JFS have the opportunity to present their laboratory with special features and possibilities of excellent research. Interested researchers from Southeast Asia and Europe will get insights into selected laboratories from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand. Speakers and the audience have the opportunity to get in touch with each other, to extend exciting international networks and to discuss potential future cooperation, in particular in the thematic areas of Sustainable Food Production / Climate Change.

In addition, Meet My Lab x JFS will provide information about EURAXESS ASEAN and the JFS and its 7th Joint Call for Proposals, which is currently open for submission of research proposals.

A series of webinars on the topic "Green Technologies for Plastic Value Chain Management" is organised with the support of the Enhanced Regional EU-ASEAN Dialogue Instrument (E-READI), a programme funded by the EU that supports policy dialogues between the two regional entities.

These webinars welcome all interested parties involved in plastic value chain management and green technologies including industry and business representatives, researchers, government agencies, and NGOs.

Five webinars were already organized starting in February this year.

The sixth webinar is the last in this serie and just looming and will take place on July 29, 2021, on the topic "Promoting Sound and Green Technologies for Plastic Wastes Management".

A virtual matchmaking event for research actors from across ASEAN and the European Research Area in view of Horizon Europe open calls will be held from 28 to 30 June 2021

Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation with a budget of €95.5 billion. It will run from 2021 to 2027. The first calls for proposals for collaborative research action are due to be launched in June.

 

A virtual matchmaking event for research actors from across ASEAN and the European Research Area will be held from 28 to 30 June 2021.

  • Plenary sessions with European Commission representatives on International Cooperation in Horizon Europe.

  • Receive focused briefings on the application modalities for selected Horizon Europe Calls for Proposal.

  • 1-1 matchmaking to help you build & expand your international research network.
     

Who should participate?

  • Research actors from the public and the private sector across ASEAN and the European Research Area (ERA) are invited to attend. This includes universities, research institutes, industry actors, NGOs etc.

  • Participants should have the capacity and intent of joining a Horizon Europe-funded research consortium.

  • Registration is free of charge. Seats are limited!

  • This event will be hosted on the Hopin platform and simulates a virtual conference.

  • The platform offers various opportunities for engagement with and between the participants.

The SEA-Europe Joint Funding Scheme for Research and Innovation (JFS) is a network of funders from Southeast Asia and Europe which launches Joint Calls for Proposals on an annual basis.

Currently, the 5th Joint S&T Call for Proposals in the thematic area of Infectious Diseases and Nanotechnologies, the 6th Joint Innovation Call for Proposals in the thematic area of Digital Health and Bioeconomy are open for submission. The submission of proposals will be closed on 15th December 2020 17:00 Jakarta time (5th Call) and 15th January 2020 18:00 Jakarta time (6th Call).

As a Call Secretariat, the Indonesian Science Fund (DIPI) supports the set-up of strong consortia for the submission of the project proposals with high quality, selected Southeast Asian and European researchers. In that context, the Call secretariat held an online Q&A session, online on the 7th of December 2020.

The 4th Virtual JFS Matchmaking Event took place in the spirit of the Global Bioeconomy Summit 2020.
